Q: What is your pricing?
A: Our wedding photography packages start at $1,295. If you'd like to receive a copy of our wedding price guide, please click on the CONTACT button at the top of this page. Remember to include your wedding date!
Q: How do I reserve you for our wedding day?
A: First you look through my website and make sure that you like my style. Then you contact me and we can chat via email, or set up a meeting to get to know one another and make sure we would be a good fit. Then you will sign a wedding agreement with a $300 non-refundable retainer. The remaining balance will be due 14 days prior to your wedding. I accept cash, checks, and Notre Dame Football season tickets. Out of fairness to all my clients, I operate on a first come-first served basis. Once I receive the signed agreement and retainer, the date is officially yours.
Q: What kind of gear do you use?
A: I use Canon professional gear. I have top of the line cameras and lenses. When I shoot all images are saved to two different memory cards at the same time as a precaution in case one card has errors. This feature is something only available in the most high-end equipment.
Q: Do you bring backup equipment in case of a malfunction?
A: Yes, always! Cameras, lenses, batteries, memory cards, lighting equipment, etc. I also bring an emergency kit in case I need to come to the aid of anyone in the bridal party (i.e. safety pins, needle & thread, scissors, tweezers, tissues, band-aids, aspirin, dental floss, Krazy glue, breath mints, etc.).
Q: Are you a "natural light" photographer?
A: I prefer shooting in natural light when it's available. However, depending on the conditions I may use, modify and create light from flashes in order to create beautiful images. That means if there is a dark overcast in the sky, rain, or even if things are running late and the ceremony ends after dark, I've got you covered. I am able to create the images you'll love no matter what is thrown at us.
Q: Do you work with a second photographer?
A: I offer the option of a second photographer separately from my wedding packages. Second photographers are a nice option and useful in taking different perspectives during your wedding day. They are also beneficial for larger weddings including 200 or more guests. I also have an assistant to help with setting up equipment.
Q: How many images can I expect to receive?
A: This can vary greatly depending on individual circumstances, but on average I tell my clients to expect 70-80 images per hour of shooting. I aim for quality rather than quantity. Nobody needs 20 photos of the groom tying his shoelaces or 100 photos of the bride with a curling iron in her hair. That will water down your gallery and make the truly special moments less special. All wedding images are high resolution and optimized for amazing print quality from our professional photo lab. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the print quality should you decide to forgo our photo lab and have your prints produced elsewhere.
Q: Do you edit all of our photographs?
A: Absolutely! Every image deserves to be independently edited. ONE BY ONE. Photography is art and every image requires special attention.
Q: Do we receive the raw, unedited files?
A: Nope. They are not available for viewing or purchase. Would you ask your caterer to give you the food RAW? Uncooked? Haha, no!
Q: What is your typical turnaround time?
A: Turnaround time is 4-6 weeks to have your images edited and uploaded to your online gallery for you to download at your leisure. Engagement and bridal turnaround are typically around 2-3 weeks. I try my best to post sneak peeks as well.
Q: How are the photographs delivered?
A: No more having to worry about a DVD or flash drive getting lost or scratched. Your private and password protected online gallery of photos will all be stored in the cloud. Easily accessible on any computer, mobile device or tablet. One button click and you'll start downloading all images. You can order prints straight from the viewing gallery at very affordable prices from a professional printing service only available to professional photographers. Lastly, you can share the link with your friends and family so they too can enjoy the photos and order or download the ones they like.
Q: Do I have to order prints through you?
A: Nope. You can download the images and order prints wherever you want. If you like things that are convenient and easy you'll love the print order system built directly into the gallery though. Prices are very affordable and the prints are printed at an amazing production facility that works solely with professional photographers and delivers directly to your home in just a few days. If you want to trust Walmart or the like with your wedding prints (cringe) you can, but if you like great quality and ease I've made that possible for you as well.
Q: Do we need to feed you?
A: It's not required but sure appreciated. I am even okay if you want to order me a pizza. :) If it is agreed that I will have an assistant or second shooter at the wedding it is appreciated that they are fed as well.
Q: Do you need a space at a table?
A: Nope. Actually, I'd prefer not to sit with the guests. Not because I don't want to meet them but because I am usually working at the same time as I am eating. I usually find a hidden spot somewhere and as I am eating I will be downloading photos, cleaning gear, charging batteries etc. Also, there will be times when I need to get up quickly to take photos of an event that is happening. So it is always much better for me to not have to excuse myself constantly from a table of your friends and family.
